This is Ras El Hanout from Algeria. 20grams
Ras el hanout or Rass el hanout is a spice combination from different regions of North africa. The name is in Arabic for "head of the shop" and implies a combination of the simplest spices and yet loaded with aromas the vendor must provide. Ras el hanout is employed in several savory dishes, typically rubbed on meat or stirred into rice.
There is no definitive combination of spices that creates up ras el hanout. Each shop, company, or person could have their own mix. The mixture carries with it several spices. normally used ingredients embody cardamom, clove, cinnamon, ground chili peppers, coriander, cumin, peppercorn, paprika, fenugreek, and turmeric. Some spices is also specific to the region, like ash berries, chufa, grains of paradise, orris root, monk's pepper, cubebs, or dried rosebud. Ingredients is also cooked before being ground and mixed along.
The Algerian Ras El hanout is usually found to be softer, using less ingredients and yet to die for when put in food.

This is a very exciting website! I like being able to see decent sized pictures of the products, and a brief history and explanation of the items is also very interesting and effective. Hacene, thank you for your notification, I shall look forward to receiving the Sand Roses. And it is exciting to think my belts are being handmade especially for me in Algeria - it is obviously a fascinating country. I'm too old to travel now, but love learning about places I have never seen. The photos (modern and old) are fascinating. I run a very tiny gift shop in a very tiny place (Lemon Tree Passage). The shop is part of the waterside unit my husband Ray and I live in. Not to make a profit, but to keep me occupied and interested as he is an invalid now. The community is getting familiar with the fact that The Little Gift Shoppe always has something unusual. Not that you need to know all that, but I had to compliment you on your web site. I don't know who has created it for you, or if indeed you have put it together yourself, but whichever applies, it is one of the best sites, both from content and composition that I have visited. Azul fellawen Cela fait quelques semaines que j'ai découvert ce site berbére et c'est presque chaque jour que je rentre pour l'exploiter de plus en plus. Ce que j'ai aimé dans ton site Hacene est le fait que tu as inclus un peu de tout : la poésie, l'histoire, les traditions,........etc .De penser a inclure : les sites, les travaux, accomplies par les autres ma beaucoup touché, car cela prouve ta bonne foie de vouloir valoriser et rendre connu tout ce qui a rapport avec nous les berberes. Je t'encourage a perseverer Hacene et de y aller plus loin avec ca.
