This unique Kabyle/Berber hand of fatima Brooch is purely handmade by an Algerian artisan using pure silver 950, mediterranean red coral and colourful enamel. You sometimes get imperfections in their jewellery; that is because they are done separately by hand; which gives it the real sense of the Handmade. Meaning of Hand of Fatima:
The Khamsa or Hamsa, (in Hebrew: “Khamsa” in Arabic: Hamsa means “five”) is an icon in amulets, charms, and Jewellery, to protect against evil eyes.
An Islamic alternative name for this charm : “Eye of Fatima or the hand of Fatima” , regarding to Fatima Zahra, Prophet Muhammad’s daughter. The other meaning in Jewish is Miriam’s hand , as regards Miriam, the sister of Aaron and Moses. It is a sort of “protection of the hand” or “The hand of God“.
It symbolizes also the five books of the Torah to Jews and the Five Pillars of Islam for Sunni Muslims.
In recent years, several peace activists in the Middle East, have chosen to wear resistance Hamsa the symbol of the origin and the similarities between the Jewish and Islamic tradition. The fingers may point up or down.

Thank you very much for all the information regarding the pendent, I was hoping that it came from Tizi Ouzou. My ex boyfriend is from that town and gave me a beautiful ring, that matches the pendent I found on your site, so I was really very happy. I will take your offer of an other item without S&H, everything is so beautiful, how could I resist!

This is a very exciting website! I like being able to see decent sized pictures of the products, and a brief history and explanation of the items is also very interesting and effective. Im very excited at the opprotunity to purchase such exotic and beautiful items so easily! Gotta love the internet for that right! Im looking forward to seeing the pottery and rugs too - cant wait for that! Keep up the good work, and I hope your goal is achieved - to familiarise australians with this mystical culture and it's beauty. Well done!
