This magnificent new generation piece of Jewellery from Algeria is 100% handmade by an Algerian Amazigh (known as Berber) Jeweller to revolutionize the Algerian Jewellery making and the handicraft in general. The aim of this beautiful type of handicraft is purely to bring two dialectal groups of Amazigh people together (Tuareg in the Sahara desert and Kabyle in the mountains of Kabylia in the North of Algeria). Both the Tuaregs and Kabyles use pure silver 950¸ however the Tuaregs hand carve all their Jewellery pieces in drawing Amazigh symbols that date at least 13000 years. However the Kabyles are using the colourful enamel and most importantly the genuine Mediterranean red coral in their Jewellery to give them extra value¸ beauty¸ peace¸ health and spirituality to the Jewellery that their women are proudly wearing.

What is Kabyle Jewellery (Jewelry):
The Native people of North Africa are called Imazighen (Amazigh for singular), where we can find different dilects such as Kabyle, Tuareg, Chawi, Shelfi, Amazigh, Rifi, Mouzabit, etc. The Kabyles refers then to the Amazigh/Berber people of the Northern part of Algeria, they are specialised in a lot of handcrafted artifacts such as Pottery and ceramics, Berber Rugs, and Silver Jewellery with pure Mediterranean red coral for hundreds of years. They excel in it all in keeping its traditional aspect of it, they are never mass produced and they are never identical as they have always been handmade one by one.

And it is exciting to think my belts are being handmade especially for me in Algeria - it is obviously a fascinating country. I'm too old to travel now, but love learning about places I have never seen. The photos (modern and old) are fascinating. I run a very tiny gift shop in a very tiny place (Lemon Tree Passage). The shop is part of the waterside unit my husband Ray and I live in. Not to make a profit, but to keep me occupied and interested as he is an invalid now. The community is getting familiar with the fact that The Little Gift Shoppe always has something unusual. Not that you need to know all that, but I had to compliment you on your web site. I don't know who has created it for you, or if indeed you have put it together yourself, but whichever applies, it is one of the best sites, both from content and composition that I have visited. Your website is unique in itself and only needs minor variations possibly to improve the homepage by changing the layout of the page. Maybe having the writing down the sides and having the pictures in the centre with links below them to make it easier for your customers to find certain products. Possibly a black background will be nicer than a grey one. Other than that I think you have done well, your genuine authentic products & fantastic prices will attract customers.
